"Bystander" 2020 - PROTEST ART
During the turmoil and ongoing protests of the killing of George Floyd in 2020, “Bystander” was created in support of all the protesters injured for vocalizing and defending the common man from police brutality. The piece illustrates an innocent protester in a state of terror and shock from two rubber bullets entering from directions left and right. An emotional and disheartening composition with chaotic drops of blood and swirls of applied paint creating an atmosphere of honest ideas, emotional muddling, and explosive expression.
Acrylic, foam and foil sticker on 140 lb watercolor paper (18 x 24"). Signed on front, titled and dated on back in frame with glass (22.75 x 28.75").
